Who I am
I am Nico Untermoser and during my tenure at Riegler Riewe, I played an active role in the Gradnerstrasse project, a comprehensive 46-hectare new city planning initiative. This ambitious urban development demanded a holistic approach to spatial design, combining functionality with innovative urban solutions. Working on Gradnerstrasse enriched my understanding of large-scale city planning and the complexities involved in designing cohesive, mixed-use environments that respond to both social and environmental needs.
In parallel, I contributed to the renovation of Haus K, a family home project that challenged me to balance preservation with modernization, creating a living space that respects its history while meeting contemporary standards. This project deepened my appreciation for the integration of architectural heritage and current living requirements.
My Bachelor Final focused on the integration and rediscovery of landscape, a theme closely connected to my professional experiences. This work was assessed by Prof. Klaus K. Leonhard, a distinguished Harvard alumnus, whose mentorship underpinned the academic rigor of my research. The project emphasized the importance of landscape as a vital component of architectural and urban environments, aligning directly with the principles applied in both Gradnerstrasse and Haus K.
Together, these experiences have enhanced my skills in merging architecture with landscape and urban planning, reinforcing my commitment to creating sustainable, contextually aware environments that promote both ecological sensitivity and social cohesion.
