Bachelors Final

Developing Sant Erasmo

My bachelor’s final project involved transforming an unused, overgrown plot of land into a functional architectural model that physically represented the "Farm to Table" process step by step. The design emphasized sustainable agriculture, integrating spaces for crop cultivation, harvesting, processing, and distribution within a cohesive building layout. A key aspect of the project was creating a dedicated space for learning, aimed at bridging generations on the island. Since the island has very few young children, the design facilitated interaction between the older generation and the youth, fostering the transfer of agricultural knowledge and traditions. This hands-on approach allowed for a tangible demonstration of how food production flows from farm to consumer, highlighting efficiency, environmental consciousness, and the invaluable role of education in sustaining local culture. The project was rigorously assessed by Professor Klaus K. Leonhard, a Harvard alumnus, who commended the innovative use of space and the clarity of the conceptual narrative.
